As the last month of the year, December is the time to tie the loose ends and prepare for new victories in the fresh new year. It is the most festive time when the holiday spirit hits all industries, including iGaming. Let’s do the recap and see what has marked the end of 2022 in the gambling industry.

New Slots On The Market

December is always in the light of the Christmas-themed slots, but this year many providers have released their holiday titles earlier and closed the shop until the next year. Still, that wasn’t the case with Pragmatic Play which has delighted its players with festive anime adventure Starlight Christmas with tumbling reels, multipliers and up to 5,000x bet-winning potential.

Pizza! Pizza? Pizza! is another amazing provider’s slot worth mentioning as it comes with a max prize of 7,200x the bet. Besides exciting free spins round, multipliers and Money symbols, what makes this game special is its grid presented like a pizza slice in a 2x3x4x5x6 formation that can expand during the bonus feature.

Steaming action is rolling on the reels of the 7x7 Hot Pepper slot with cluster mechanics and a huge winning potential of up to 10,000x the bet. Add Wilds that appear with multipliers of up to 128x and you have a must-try slot on your plate.

Still, the most potentially awarding slot from the Pragmatic’s December line is Fury of Odin that offers a massive maximum win of 15,000x the stake! The Norse-inspired adventure is packed with special features, Mystery symbols and many modifiers.

Hacksaw Gaming has finished the year in its unique style, with a launch of a gruesome Rotten slot revolving around the zombie apocalypse. While visuals are quite disturbing and spooky, the winning potential of up to 10,000x alongside numerous bonus features will probably encourage you to give it a spin.

Casino Streaming Scene During December

During December, online casino streamers weren’t that active due to changes in Twitch's meta gambling policy. As in the previous month, the master of slot steaming Roshtein was taking time for himself, exploring Canada and enjoying.

Still, that didn’t stop him to be in touch with his community via Twitter and to try out the new platform for gambling streams. While he is best known for his masterful slot-spinning skills, Rosh is also no stranger to sports betting.

Of course, the FIFA World Cup couldn’t go unnoticed so the streamer was very active during the event, lacing bets every day. On his website, Roshtein has organized a special World Cup 2022 Guessing Game where the 50 most successful players got a share of the $100,000 prize pool.

After the biggest sports event of the year has ended, the streamer decided to move to the warmer climate. From the gorgeous island of Turks & Caicos, Rosh had a special New Year’s stream when he discovered a lot of interesting plans for the next year.

While the time difference between Europe (CET) and Turks & Caicos is 6 hours, the streamer went back and beyond to celebrate New Year's Eve with most of its followers. With fireworks nonetheless!

In this live Twitch stream, the streamer didn’t spin slots. Instead, he took time to chat with his troops in the beautiful tropical surroundings.

Under the colorful light of fireworks, Roshtain thanked its troops for always being with him on his journey. He wished everyone a happy New Year, a lot of health, wealth, a joyful 2023 year and many more to come.

Changes In Gambling Legislation

At the very beginning of December, North Dakota governor Doug Burgum and the chairpersons of the state’s five tribal nations signed new gaming compacts, opening the door for online offerings on tribal reservations. In addition, mobile betting will be legalized in areas within the physical boundaries of the tribal land, while an addendum added to the compacts by the tribes to allow those types of games outside the borders of the reservations was not included in the final draft.

A New York legislator has introduced Bill 9605 calling on the state regulator to crack down on “predatory sportsbook bonuses”. Although the bill doesn’t provide any detail on what action the regulator should take against predatory promotions, it has been referred to the Senate Rules Committee.

Across the pond, a Danish regulator has banned reactivation bonuses for lapsed players, as part of its new responsible gambling guidance. The new guidance is similar to the previous version published in September but contains some updates and clarifications about what it considered to be irresponsible marketing practices including this ban.

After the final meeting of the inter-state Gambling College, the newly created German regulator Gemeinsamen Glücksspielbehörde der Länder (GGL) has taken the task of regulating the online gaming market to the Saalstadt-based authority. The symbolic handover took place on December 13.
